" . . . . of alternative routes to Trinidad, such as by boat, I decided against. Fly now! On account of this event there were delays - this meant arrival at the familiar Piarco airport was to be about 1 am. This was late for this modest aerodrome. No taxi’s around to meet us. In the event it didn’t arrive into the Trinidad night until gone 2am. Along with others I waited until morning before moving on. Some made their way to the nearby hotel. I recalled how good it is to some times sleep in the open under the stars. Briefly I fell into a deep sleep on a concourse bench surrounded by night-time flyers, mosquitoes in particular. Ankles and wrists made happy hour for those vampirous ticks. On return to Coconut Grove Cottage that morning and tearing off sweat drenched clothes, I hurled myself barrel fashion into the Caribbean surf.  Then after some studio re-organisation Missy called round with a pile of freshly laundered cotton clothes that she had kept for me. . . . . "
