"........however I enjoyed some quieter times on my own. I went on long drives. One excursion to Marbella at the other end of the country: other routes of lesser distances, back and forth to Girona for instance, and to sit in the shadow of the cathedrals. Here plugged- in thoughts began making them selves known. I’d make a distinctive painting project about sacred sites! It was an idea coming closer to the front of my mind but still a tad fuzzy. I would come to realise that being an artist for me was to be about making arts- projects as well as individual paintings. I now felt slightly nauseous, for if I was to keep momentum going to make distinctive arts projects, what about this attempt to make a committed relationship with Gina? Could both things happen? Time would tell."
